For thirty years, the CASA Jefferson Program served as a sub-department of the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court. Relying heavily on federal funding and unable to fundraise as a part of the Court, the decision was made to allow CASA Jefferson to separate from the juvenile court. On January 1, 2013 CASA Jefferson transitioned to its own 501(c)3 organization, CASA Jefferson, Inc. governed by an independent volunteer board of directors. CASA Jefferson serves the foster children of Jefferson Parish through the assignment of trained community volunteers. The nature of CASA’s service inherently supports the juvenile court of Jefferson Parish. The ability to diversify funding as a nonprofit is critical to long term sustainability of CASA. In addition to federal funding, CASA Jefferson hopes to seek individuals and businesses who may be interested in supporting our cause.
Donations to CASA Jefferson support the recruitment, training and supervision of our Advocates who serve our community’s abused and neglected children. Our goal is serve all the children who come through the foster care system in Jefferson Parish.
All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
