STEP THREE: Pre-service Interview During the pre-service interview, applicants will sit down with our recruiter to discuss your interest in CASA, your background, and to learn a bit more about the CASA organization.
STEP FOUR: Attend CASA Pre-Service Training Program CASA Jefferson trains its volunteers to be the best possible Advocates for abused and neglected children in Jefferson Parish. Advocates will complete a 40- hour training program, which is offered several times a year. The program covers topics such as court proceedings, permanency planning, accessing services, dynamics of child abuse and neglect, family violence, cultural competency, and advocacy responsibilities. In addition, all pre-service volunteers must attend at least 2 hours of court observation at Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court.
All classes must be taken for a volunteer to be sworn in by the court as a CASA Advocate.
